Rooms & Rates

Although many people come up to the Black Wolf Lodge as a way to get away the harried pace of life, we understand that everybody has a different idea of relaxing. Some just want a glass of wine and a good book on our south deck. Others prefer a brisk hike along the ridgeline or through cool aspen groves. For those of you who wish to be more active, we have the following activities available for you:

Hiking
Because we are situated toward the center of our large property, you have nearly a dozen different hiking/mountain biking trails to choose from. You can take a brisk hike along the western ridge of the property up to Sandy Point, or through one of the aspen groves that go down to Manders Creek. We've put up some unobtrusive guideposts along the way to help you enjoy your hikes without worry.

Fishing
Manders Creek joins a larger stream about two miles southwest of the Lodge, and anglers have several quiet fishing spots along both relatively secluded banks. Some of the more common fish caught are rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, brook trout, splake and yellow perch.

Horseback Riding
For those who want to enjoy the property without taking a longer hike, we have a seven-horse stable and any of our guides can take you on a relaxing ride to several different places on our property and into the State park. Bring your cameras.

Yoga
The yoga classes are held either outside on the far patio in the summer and fall, or in the recreation room of the main lodge during the spring and winter months. Mrs. Solis is a practitioner of Hatha yoga and is always willing to spend time with others in this peaceful and relaxing activity.

Sweat Lodge
Many years ago, Mr. Solis had the opportunity to participate in a very traditional Lakota inipi ceremony, more commonly known as the sweat lodge. The ceremony is one of concentration, endurance and purification, and can produce the most extraordinary feeling of renewal. Mr. Solis is happy to invite those of a respectful mindset to join him in a traditional inipi ceremony to share in this experience.

Meditation
Our recreation room is well-insulated from outside sounds and may be reserved if you would like to find quiet time for peaceful meditation. Guided meditation classes are available upon request.
